That is a scam. All Priory Group emails are from @priorygroup.com, nothing else You cannot be offered employment as a nurse in the UK if you are not an EU trained nurse UNLESS you have first applied to and been approved by the NMC, then you have come to the UK and completed the Overseas Nurses Programme at a registered UK nursing school. Until you have both the NMC registration and a certificate from the ONP there is absolutely NO way you would be offered any sort of nursing job in the UK All real Priory Group recruitment is done directly through Priory's own website http://priorygroup.com/Home/Careers/Working%20at%20the%20Priory.aspx

100% scam. There is no job. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money. The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be from a government agency and will demand you pay for made-up fees, in cash, and only by Western Union or moneygram. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever. Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram. You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information. Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash. As you know, whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer. 6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs: 1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one. 2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order. 3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity. 4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone. 5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram. 6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site. Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason. http://

Can a US nurse work overseas in the UK
Can a US nurse work overseas in the UK?
I'm about to be a registered nurse and I was wondering if after a year or so of working in the states if I could travel overseas and work in the United Kingdom---and what all I need to do to achieve that.

I'm sure you could, especially if English is your first language. I think they are crying out for nurses (so is Canada, by the way!). It would be a lot different from working in USA. Try googling Nursing Agencies or even "National Health Service".

Do architects earn higher than nurses in the UK
Do architects earn higher than nurses in the UK?
Do architects earn a higher salary than nurses or sister nurses in the United Kingdom? What is the salary approximately for nurses? Any ideas?

Oh yeah architects do earn more than nurses. I hope there's no prejudice over here. There are far more nurses in this world than architects. Architects build buildings which cost over millions of dollars. An idea of how much an architect earns depend mostly on the bonus which comes from the ideas he provide. Basic pay would be around 1500~. Senior nurses earn around that amount if im not wrong.

I don't know if that one website is true, but Canada is really hard up for nurses right now. So if you are an RPN or RN and wanting to move to Canada, chances are pretty likely that you could find a job. I don't know how work visas, education equivalencies and all that fun stuff work, but again, there are TONS of nursing positions here.
2 :
There is no company in the UK called SHIV SANS LIMITED. Like the other jobs offers you have received, this looks like a scam.

Should we follow the British and change our immigration system
Should we follow the British and change our immigration system?
It seems to me this is EXACTLY what we need. It's what we had before Kennedy's disasterous 1965 immigration "reform." http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/4/19/143015.shtml?s=ic Britain Adopting 'Points' Immigration Britain will adopt a points-based system restricting immigration to those with skills in need and rejecting those who would compete with local workers for unskilled jobs. The system, which follows an Australian model, would assign points to immigration applicants according to their skills and job prospects in the United Kingdom, and place applicants in one of five tiers. The first tier, for highly skilled applicants such as scientists and entrepreneurs, will be launched at the beginning of next year, according to the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia. It will be followed later in the year by tiers for skilled workers, such as nurses and teachers with job offers.

That and a heavily armed border!

We have had immigration quotas since the early 1900s. The problem with illegal immigration to get around those quotas is actually that old. The Mexicans are just the latest flavor. Originally, the quotas were set in stone per the 1890 census. Whatever ethnic mix existed in 1890 was maintained. For example, if America were 2% Japanese, only 2% of immigrants could be Japanese. (I don't know if it's related or not, but the 1890 census is the only one ever destroyed by fire. All other census records are still intact as far back as 1790.)
4 :
I think that would be an excellent reform, although we must first stop the waves of illegal immigration from our borders.
5 :
Great idea...BUT!... Keep in mind that nations like Brittan and Japan are island nations. The U.S. is not. If we were an O'Neil Cylinder at point L-5, it might be difficult for "undocumenteds" to cross the expanse of space and enter. We are not. We need a wall first. And a proper guard, befitting a nation of our stature. Then, we can deal with legislation issues. Otherwise, those who violate our laws and are sent back, will just return. who needs that?
6 :
Yes... maybe then we will have more jobs !!! Now they are hitting our highways in semi-trucks not caring CDLS and our D.O.T standards on trucks. More U.S. jobs taken , better yet more snuck across our border. When does it start April 23rd, if you truck join thee slow roll April 23,24,and 25th. Run 2X2 down the interstate...do your job....at legal minium speed.Circle of Wagons ....bumper to bumper all three days at the national capitol and all 48 state capitols...JOIN THE AMERICAN TRUCKER TRUCK OUT RALLY.
7 :
This system would cater to white collar people while leaving blue collar people (migrant workers, etc.) in the dust. I guess that it would fit perfectly here as that seems to be the American way these days...
8 :
WOW. I am a US citizen and would never make it point wise.
9 :
Yes, but laws won't do any good if they aren't enforced.
10 :
But we need first to finish the wall along the border, hiring of course, illegal workers to make it cheaper, hoping not to be fined. lol ( it really happened to a construction company, which was fined for hiring illegals on this task ). Seriously. I thing that the British system would work, Let's think smart and do the right things to fit the USA necessities without prejudice.
11 :
we need to adopt this plane into our system. good for the British.
12 :
Sounds good - but unless there is enforcement of the laws - and that means no longer will there be any amnesty given - I don't see just making the changes are going to do any good. Without a positive enforcement - it leaves us in the same mess that we are in already. First we have to get rid of the illegals. Fine those that are giving them jobs and incentive for coming here. Enforce the laws already on the books - THEN maybe start thinking of possible changes to keep this mess from happening again. Cause such does need to be addressed. We have programs that are so over burdened that they are at a breaking point - as well as the taxpayers just can't pick up any more of the tab.
13 :
I'm not aware that the UK has any immigration system in place other than 'If your a dreg from a third world country, come on in'. You should visit the UK sometime. No problem finding an Indian restaurant. Blaaa!

100% SCAM An American in the UK CANNOT sponsor a foreign worker for any reason. Only a UK citizen can sponsor someone to come to the UK. Foreigners cannot sponsor anyone And like everyone has told you, you do not qualify for sponsorship even with a UK citizen. If you have not completed and ONP and are not registered with the UK NMC there is NO possible way to work as a nurse, private or otherwise, in the UK. It is not allowed. You can't get a visa without an ONP and NMC registration Here is the main number of the Astrazeneca London office http://www.corporateregister.co.uk/ComFocus/Astra.htm When calling from overseas you would dial +44 20 7304 5000 I can guarantee if you call and ask to speak to David Brennan's office, his assistant will confirm that a) he is not offering you a job as a nurse b) his wife does not have cancer c) a scammer is falsely using his name to con people Read how many other people have been conned with this scam http://www.cybercrimeops.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38327 EDIT - I actually rang the Astrazeneca number and spoke to someone in David Brennan's office. They confirmed that this was a scam and they have the police involved. They have been receiving numerous calls about this scam. Mr Brennan definitely is NOT hiring anyone to work at his home and his wife definitely does NOT have cancer or require a personal nurse

100% SCAM You didn't say in your other post this person was supposedly an American. An American in the UK has NO right to sponsor another worker. An American can only live in the UK if they are on a visa themselves. They are not UK citizens and cannot sponsor anyone but their spouse or children under 18. What's the question.... ? Law has always had to balance against using the meanings of ancient terms found in the profession, and the definitions handed down by court precedent, or changing all the definitions to match what lay-people think the word should mean. Sometimes, words are badly defined and we're stuck with them. Sometimes, words are well defined, but the common person doesn't understand the actual meaning, or the media gets it wrong and people think the term means something else. It's always a juggling act.
2 :
The case holds that the courts have to consider parliamentary intent if the language is ambiguous or new facts arise that were unanticipated by Parliament at the time the law was enacted. It is that latter portion that some in the House of Lords found troublesome. A quote from the case is below: "In interpreting an Act of Parliament it is proper, and indeed necessary, to have regard to the state of affairs existing, and known by Parliament to be existing, at the time. It is a fair presumption that Parliament's policy or intention is directed to that state of affairs. Leaving aside cases of omission by inadvertence, this being not such a case, when a new state of affairs, or a fresh set of facts bearing on policy, comes into existence, the courts have to consider whether they fall within the Parliamentary intention. They may be held to do so, if they fall within the same genus of facts as those to which the expressed policy has been formulated. They may also be held to do so if there can be detected a clear purpose in the legislation which can only be fulfilled if the extension is made. How liberally these principles may be applied must depend upon the nature of the enactment, and the strictness or otherwise of the words in which it has been expressed."

California State Board of Nursing
California State Board of Nursing?
My friend is working as a Registered Nurse in London, United Kingdom. To work in United States in the state of California what is the procedure she must go through in order to work in the state of California. Thanks , God bless you

Contact the California Department of Consumer Affiars, professional licensing division. There is no Board of Nursing. Everything is handled by the Department of CA.
2 :
It is a long process. First she needs to find a sponsor (employer) in CA willing to hire her. Just go to the hospital websites, look under jobs, and look for something like "foreign nurse opportunities." Once she has arranged employement, she'll need to arrange to take one or more exams. Many people coming to the US use the CGFNS (http://www.cgfns.org/). I would recommend contacting them for more info. I think after the CGFNS exam, then she'll need to come here, start her new job, and then take the NCLEX (USA nursing boards).

if an ordinary meaning approach to the words of the statutes had been adopted by a majority of the judges, what would have been the outcome of this case?

I notice that you have asked this question several times. So if there's been an answer that this one duplicates to one of the other times that you've asked it, I'm sorry for the repetition. It helps, when you have excerpts you are working from, to give a link. All I have is the full transcript. The question before the House of Lords was whether abortions performed by nurses were legal. The tradition was that abortions were illegal. The Parliament wrote a law exempting abortions performed by licensed medical professionals (doctors.) But a common procedure then arose in which chemicals are injected, inducing the abortion. This was simpler than the older procedures. Thus nurses and midwives commonly performed the procedure. Read with the common meaning of the statute, only doctors could legally perform the procedure. This would make the nurses criminals. Some of the Lords, such as Edmund-Davies, felt that the statute was clear and, under the existing law, nurses would be criminals for performing abortions. If, these Lords argued, we want to change the law to protect nurses then the Parliament has to vote to change the law. Others, such as Lord Keith of Kinkel, argued that the intent of the law was to exempt medical procedures, the doctor was still, technically, in charge of the procedure, so the nurse performed abortions were within the spirit of the law. It's possible that a majority could have read the law with the common meaning of the words and still felt that a doctor's supervision was all that the law required. But probably a majority of strict constructionists would have said that unless the Doctor performs the key steps toward inducing the abortion the law didn't protect the procedure and nurses could be prosecuted. While this would probably have been against the intent of the original Parliament, it would have been in keeping with the words they used. You will have to use the quotes from the different Lords to illustrate the various positions.

How did this come to you? If it was sent via unsolicited email it is a scam. If it came in the mail it is a scam. If it is a response to an application you sent then it is ok.
2 :
Call the numbers that are listed under the "The Vacancy Department" and see if you get a real answer during normal hours of operations. If you get NO answer, then I would ignore it. If you get an answer then I would question the person who answered the phone to validate what you received such as the questions that are being asked. It doesn't look like a scam because they didn't ask for your PERSONAL information such as address, bank account info, social security number and so forth.
3 :
It seems like a scam. Strange that would send a questionnaire than rather ask for an interview. Or more so something that you would hear from a temp. agency. I did find a listing of local shops near there. Stockbrokers, computer service, insurance etc. If it is local, I suggest go there personally and see if it is a real company or one of those "here today, gone tomorrow" things.
4 :
A real hospital in London will not have a.cz.cc domain. It is platform for scammers.
5 :
1005 scam. cz.cc provide free domains, and is based in the Czech Republic. Phone numbers starting 4470 are free and redirect calls to another phone anywhere in the world. So scammers pretending to be in the UK use them often. And the pay on offer is impossibly high. The scam involves you paying fees for work permits, visa, etc to a fake travel agent by western Union.
6 :
That is 100% a SCAM for so many reasons 1 - NO UK business uses a number starting with +4470 - that's a call forwarding number used to hide the location and actual number of the receiver (usually in Nigeria). If this was in London the number would start with +4420 - NOTHING else 2 - There is no City Hospital in London. That's the name of a hospital from a cancelled TV programme, not a real hospital 3 - None of the positions listed would qualify for sponsorship. If you are not a specialised surgeon, a hospital cannot hire non-EU workers 4 - UK jobs never list salaries monthly. That's not how things are done. All salaries are quoted by annual amounts. And there is NO cleaner or driver anywhere in the UK making £3500/month. They would be lucky to make £1200/month at most. A Hospital Sales Representative would make at most £2000/month, NOT £7500. That's £90k a year -- more than a doctor makes 5 - there is NO 14 St Helens Place in London. Here is every single address and business located on St Helens Place - as you can see there's no #14 and no hospital 6 - they are spamming job boards all over the world with fake offers 7 - NO UK hospital would use a .CZ email from the Czech Republic. The email would end in .co.uk if they were a UK business Report this ASAP to the site where the job was posted so they can remove it and prevent others from falling for it. This is a scam to steal your money and identity. If you have sent money or personal information you need to contact your local police or the agency in your country who investigates internet crime as you are the victim of fraud and identity theft

It's a SCAM. Note that you are not addressed by name. Did you apply to them for a job ? I presume not. Note also near the bottom they ask you for $3000 no reputable company would do that. Real agencies get paid by the employer after the hiring takes place. Ian M

Sorry. Not only is this a scam but this is a very OLD scam, too. This letter is full of lies. -You MUST HAVE AN NMC card to practice nursing in the UK, and there is no mention of it in the letter. STRANGE! How can they possibly offer you a job? You cannot practice in the UK with a Phillipine nursing license, and it is NOT transferable. -No legitimate employment agency makes you pay up front. -NO legitmate employment agency makes you PAY FOR YOUR OWN TRAINING. Be it 3000 pesos (About $67 USD, but isn't that a lot of money there?) ******************************************************************* Beware of unsolicited job offers in other countries. You can easily end up being exploited or even kidnapped and sold into prostitution. Ian is right, they don't even address you by your name!!! "Only 20 have been selected?" Try 20 million! Mark the email as SPAM.

as well as the things the other posters spicked up there are loads of other discrepanies in this email. ONLY critical care and threatre nurses can be sponsored for a work visa in the UK at the momment. Overseas nurses have to carry out a 20 day training programme in a UK hospital before they are allowed to work in the UK. Overseas trainign does not and would not ake the palce of this or have any vailifty in the UK. No reputable business would ask you to pay using remittance cards. No reputable UK company uses free email prooviders such as live.com, yahoo, hotmail etc. There is no company called Healthcare Resume and Genesis Group Ltd is a pharmaceutical company, so it's hardly likely to be recruiting nurses. The address given for Genesis is in fact for Du Pont Far East Inc (Phillipines) who trade in motor vehciles and parts. http://telebisyon.net/Mga-Imbestigador-ng-Bayan/series/comments/

What Countries in Europe is much like Latin America when it comes to taking care of the elderly
What Countries in Europe is much like Latin America when it comes to taking care of the elderly?
I'm referring that you see Hispanic people in Latin America and it's part of culture when someone in the family is old unable to care him/herself.Instead of dumping them to a nursing home one of the grown kids of the elderly parent/s takes turn caring for them at their own house. Also the Hispanic culture sees it as a disgrace to dump them in a nursing home like people here in America do it. So my question is What central and eastern European countries do the same and view it the same as Latin Americans?Would the following countries include France, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Czech, Finland, Croatia, Ukraine? I know that it's the same with Southern European countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece. Also that northern European countries such as United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, are just about or the same as Americans. I keep wondering why does it seem that non white i.e Africans, Asians, Native Americans are the same way when it comes to caring for an elderly.

Africans normally don't live that long. They usually die of AIDS, tribe wars, genocide, and other diseases before the age of 35.
2 :
I Think in Us (Latinos) Its Mainly on Like a Catholic (Karma) We Believe our Elders are very Important and Everyone knows they don't want to be treated like baby's but do not want to be abandoned into a place where they might take care of them but the Love Isn't there... Its Like the Saying.. " Treat Others the Way You Would Like to Be treated" Just My Opinion...
3 :
As an Italian.. I know that Croations, Serbians and Romanians (Just any Eastern Euro country) are VERY family orientated and look after their elderly Its an embarassment to send your parents to a retirement home in our culture
4 :
Basque and Turkey.
5 :
I would say Spain. By the way, Finland is in northern Europe.

Veterinary Technician moving to the UK
Veterinary Technician moving to the UK?
I have currently almost completed Veterinary Technician degree here in the US (a two year degree). But recently there have been circumstances which encouraged me to move to the United Kingdom after completion of this degree. (i.e. fiance) I need someone who can help or direct me to a resource that can help me figure out how to translate my veterinary technician degree into a veterinary nursing career. If anyone knows of any websites that could answer veterinary nursing demand in the UK as well that would be a big help. Basically, I'm clueless about what I should do and where I should be looking!

You should start by contacting the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as that is the group that oversee veterinary nurses. They will be the group that would have to determine the value of your degree compared to their requirements for credentialing of veterinary nurses in the UK. http://www.rcvs.org.uk/VeterinaryNurses

Go to the Sun Oil website and peruse their career opportunities to find out. Its obvious that real or fake, this is a solicitation from a third party recruiter, not the hiring company.
2 :
did you actually apply for a job with them? if no, then it's fake - send in a resume - see what happens - if they wind up asking you for any money - then it's a scam - run away
3 :
If this person is real, you can find out by doing a quick search for the name Dr. Mike Carlos at your favourite search engine. Chances are he will show up with the same address, assuming he is legit. I get at least 10 of these letters each week. My gut instincts tell me to trash them. If you need the job check it out by calling the number. As Dr. Deth says above, if they ask for money, it is a scam. Run. To your success, Anthony http://prosperityinmotion.net/blog.html

Don't asnwer the letter at all, spam it or do like I do and save them all for the FBI.

Yes it has all the typical ingredients of a scam letter, 99% of them are from Nigeria. Someone posted an almost identical one a few months back. Ignore it and anything else with similar wordings in the future.

This is a Nigerian scam to steal your money and your identity. DO NOT respond or send any information Gallery Group is not a real company - it's a fake company name used in numerous job scams http://www.consumercomplaints.in/complaints/gallery-group-uk-amp-dana-petroleum-c154787.html so the family cannot work for a fake company An American working in the UK cannot sponsor a foreign worker, nor can any individual or family. Only a corporation already registered by the Home Office can sponsor foreign workers http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier2/ict/sponsorship/registerofsponsors/ then click on the document on the right "Register of Sponsors - Employers" -- if they are not listed there they cannot sponsor you. NO exceptions. You cannot work as a Nurse in the UK unless you come as a student and complete the Overseas Nursing Programme. Until you do so, you cannot be offered any sort of nursing job in the UK You do not send any emails to anyone. there is no UK Boarder Home Office - it's the Home Office Border Agency. The employer applies for a Certificate of Sponsorship - not a Certificate of Eligibility, which does not exist. It takes 12-14 weeks for the Home Office to approve a Certificate of Sponsorship. The employee does nothing at this point but wait for 3 months for an original letter to be sent to their home address. No nursing job in the UK pays 1000/week. You would be lucky to make 2000/month

No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason. http://

an a US nurse work overseas in the UK?
I'm about to be a registered nurse and I was wondering if after a year or so of working in the states if I could travel overseas and work in the United Kingdom---and what all I need to do to achieve that.

I'm sure you could, especially if English is your first language. I think they are crying out for nurses (so is Canada, by the way!). It would be a lot different from working in USA. Try googling Nursing Agencies or even "National Health Service".

Blaaa!

Mr Brennan definitely is NOT hiring anyone to work at his home and his wife definitely does NOT have cancer or require a personal nurse

did you apply for this job? No. does it sound too good to be true? Yes. would anyone really hire someone they've never met to be a private nurse? No. this is a scam. Don't respond, if you do they will empty your bank account.

100% SCAM You didn't say in your other post this person was supposedly an American. An American in the UK has NO right to sponsor another worker. An American can only live in the UK if they are on a visa themselves. They are not UK citizens and cannot sponsor anyone but their spouse or children under 18. So if they claim they are American and want to hire you, it's even more proof this is a scam as an American cannot sponsor a foreigner as they are sponsored themselvews David Brennan is a notorious online job scammer - here are just a few of the hundreds of people who have already reported this scam http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=45935 http://embassy-finder.com/philippines_in_london_united-kingdom_embassy?page=8 http://www.india-complaints.com/Company/david-brennanastrazeneca-international http://www.istorya.net/forums/general-discussions/267834-scams-3.html http://embassy-finder.com/philippines_in_london_united-kingdom?page=2

Use your common sense. wWat sort of person would hire a complete stranger from the other side of the world whom he has never met, never interviewed, never taken up references for and never had police checked, to look after a loved one?

It's a scam, you don't have a visa and wouldn't get one for this type of work. Scam, scam, scam, scam, scam, scam, scam etc etc etc.
